The golden sun rays welcomed me as I landed in Lisbon – a city known for its warm hospitality and vibrant culture. After checking into my charming hotel in the heart of Alfama, my journey through the cobblestone streets, where historical heritage echoed in every stone, began. The day ended with a breathtaking view of the city from Miradouro da Senhora do Monte.
Day 2: Discovering Alfama and Experiencing Tram Magic
A leisurely morning in the alleys of Alfama led me to small cafes where the scent of freshly brewed coffee and Pasteis de Nata lingered in the air. In the afternoon, I ventured onto the famous Line 28 of the yellow trams, which took me through the colorful streets of Lisbon, passing by historical landmarks. The day concluded with a romantic dinner at a Fado restaurant, where melancholic melodies filled the air.
Day 3: Belém – History and Sweet Temptations
A trip to Belém introduced me to historical wonders such as the Jerónimos Monastery and the Belém Tower. Strolling along the riverside, I reached the famous Pastéis de Belém, where the delicious custard tarts transported me to another time. The afternoon was spent walking along the river as the sun slowly set behind the skyline of Lisbon.
Day 4: Coastal Train Journey to Estoril
A day filled with coastal magic began with a picturesque train journey along the Atlantic coast to Estoril. The gentle waves and the salty breeze accompanied me on this journey, and upon arriving in Estoril, I reached the golden sandy beach. For hours, I enjoyed the sound of the waves and the warm sun on my skin. The evening in Estoril was crowned with a delicious seafood dinner at a beachside restaurant.
Day 5: Oceanic Marvels at the Aquarium and Farewell to Lisbon
My final day in Lisbon took me to the Oceanário de Lisboa, an impressive aquarium that showcases the wonders of the underwater world. Surrounded by marine life, I marveled at the diversity of aquatic ecosystems. The rest of the day was spent wandering through the nearby Parque das Nações, absorbing the modern architecture and enjoying the tranquil surroundings.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, I bid farewell to Lisbon, carrying with me memories of sun-drenched days, delightful cuisine, and the warm embrace of Portugal’s cultural richness. Até logo, Lisbon!
